It has to be said that the reviews here on TripAdvisor still refer to the previous owner and the old campsite. A lot has changed since Patrick took over the campsite. A great sand bar or chill-out lounge invites you to eat, drink, chat and linger. The bathrooms have... been completely redone. There is space for tents, caravans and motorhomes. There are also cabins. The in-house store sells ice cream, drinks and food. Also small souvenirs etc. A lot of love can be seen in all kinds of details ... e.g. the herb garden, where you can help yourself freely. There is a fire pit where you can barbecue or simply make a fire or marshmallows. Special requests are gladly fulfilled. Cool, relaxed, friendly hospitality makes you feel at home here. You can see that in every corner. A great deal of importance is attached to tidiness and cleanliness. This is reflected in the sanitary facilities and the outside sink. No matter when you enter the sanitary facilities, you... can see that they are cleaned several times a day.
The pitch is also in a well-kept condition and makes a really great impression.
The beach bar invites you to enjoy a nice chat and delicious cocktails. You can quickly strike up a nice conversation with other guests.
It won't have been my last visit to this place. From here you can explore the town of Wetzlar on foot, by bike or boat. In contrast to the inner-city pitches, the campsite has clean and tidy toilets and showers. Beach bar with everything your heart desires - beer, cocktails, alcohol-free drinks, snacks, delicious grilled food. Often also a special 😉.
The only thing you could possibly criticize would be that 3 showers (men) are a bit few at peak times, but is completely ok for the size of the place.
The whole team around the boss are super friendly and always in a good mood, that makes a lot of difference!
We will definitely be back, and certainly not just once!

Thank you very much for your feedback. I saw that you were in position 1. Depending on how big your vehicle is, the awning may not be able to be extended. "Normal sized" motorhomes and caravans have not had any problems so far. If, for example, there is a car from the caravan on top, it gets a bit tight.

We had booked online and wanted to leave 2 days earlier because... our little daughter couldn't sleep because of the road. Unfortunately, there was no goodwill on the previously reserved days, a pity. A small concession would have improved the friendliness. The sanitary facilities are very old and worn, more focus should be placed on this.
