We stayed at this campground and had booked a week's stay. Unfortunately, on the first night we were involved in a serious car accident. I was 10 weeks pregnant and we were transported and admitted to the hospital in Grosseto.

My brother then came to Orbetello to help us. Upon admission I had given... him the keys to our tent so that he could rest for a few hours, having just traveled over 3 hours to reach us.

Upon arriving at the reception, he was informed that since he was not a registered guest, he would not be able to access the tent to sleep. We understand the need to abide by the rules of the facility, but my brother provided plenty of evidence of the situation: the online article about the incident with photos of our car, pictures of the wrecked vehicle with the license plate registered for access to the campground, my ID (the reservation was in my name and we have the same last name), and he even asked to have me speak with the front desk by phone to personally confirm everything. This option was also declined.

The aspect that we found most difficult to understand was that, although we considered him a stranger to the point of preventing him from accessing our tent, the facility then found it possible to hand over to him all of our personal belongings inside: suitcases, clothes, and other items.

The camp presents itself as a particularly family- and child-friendly facility. In an exceptional situation such as the one that involved us, we would have expected more willingness to find a temporary and reasonable solution, such as withholding my brother's ID or making the necessary verifications. Instead, a person who arrived to render aid found himself without a place to sleep.

As a result of our complaints, we received a refund of about half the amount paid, which was appreciated.
