You can do a lot of things in the Harz Mountains from the campsite, midday and night-time rest are very well observed, the pitches were a bit tight in places, but everything is doable. There are various nice seating areas on the campsite itself, both covered and free-standing (especially for campers with tents),

There are train connections to various surrounding towns.
A supermarket is just under one kilometer away from the site.
The sanitary facilities are cleaned regularly and are therefore in... good condition. The grass paved footpaths are partly worn out and difficult to walk or drive on if you roll your toilet tank on the way to the disposal station.Automatski prevedeno.

I can't find any.Very nice campsiteWe were there for the weekend on the recommendation of a friend. It was a great decision. The site is in the middle of Thale and has a quiet, idyllic atmosphere. You can reach all the sights by bike. Or the cable cars.
The sanitary facilities were in a very good and clean condition.
We were particularly pleased with the friendly staff, who provided great support from booking to the end of our stay.

Thale with its adventure world is easy to reach on foot or by bike. There you can also use the cable car to the Bodetal bike park.
The campsite is nicely designed, a little winding, despite not so large pitches there... is enough privacy. If you book in advance, you will be asked for the size of your caravan/motorhome so that a suitable pitch is available.
There is also a motorhome pitch / overnight pitch just before the actual campsite.
The site offers a bread roll service, but we didn't make use of this due to the proximity to the town.
POI such as Quedlinburg, Teufelsmauer, Wernigerode, Titan RT, Selketal... are also easy to reach by bike. You can walk from the site to the Devil's Wall, the Bode Valley is not far away, Quedlinburg, Wernigerode and the Harz Mountains themselves are not far away. Public transport is free with the... guest card and the nearest supermarket is also within walking distance.
The card for the sanitary facilities is okay, so no strangers can get in. You can get more than one (deposit €20). However, the reception doesn't open until 9am, which means you can't leave until after that because you still have to hand in your card, or you can hope for early risers to get into the sanitary building. You can leave as early as 7 a.m. ....

Free public transport directly to the hiking destinations thanks to the visitor's tax.Negativne straneThe dog meadow in front of the campsite is quite small but due to the location of the campsite. Vioer Euro per night for the dog and practically nothing in return. The playground is fine for small children. There is not much on offer for older children.Quiet location and yet close to the centerWe, two adults and our dog, stayed at the campsite with our caravan. The inquiry in January 22 and subsequent booking went very well and friendly.
We arrived on 15.06.2022 and were given a very friendly welcome. At the reception we received very good instructions regarding shopping facilities, restaurants... and conditions on the campsite. We left again on 20.06.2022. No matter when and where you saw the campsite operators. There was always a kind word. You can tell that the operators and their staff run the campsite like a family and with heart and soul.
The campsite and the sanitary facilities were clean at all times.
This site is particularly suitable for hikers with tents or cyclists with tents. Thanks to the large covered pavilion with table and seating, there is also a little more comfort for these vacationers after a strenuous journey. Of course, there are better equipped and more comfortable pitches. But for us, the factors small, clean, nice and friendly are the deciding factors. We will certainly be back again.

For further information see rating ...For us (with dog) no 2nd timeThe campsite is conveniently located for excursions, but less so for dog owners. You can't just go out for a short dog walk before breakfast or bedtime. Cobblestones and asphalt wherever you look. The "dog meadow" advertised on the information leaflet turns out to be an area of barely 100 square meters... that is not maintained or mowed, which is why it is difficult or even impossible to remove dog poo. You have to drive away by car with a dog that needs a bit of exercise.
Only ONE key card per pitch for toilets and showers is also kind of stupid. Only one person can go at a time and if they're in the shower and the other one has to go, they're out of luck (or have to wait for someone to open the door). For us, it detracts from the positive experience and makes it awkward (e.g. a real challenge for families with children).
We find it impossible that you have to stand in a certain direction.
Meaning: the drawbar of the caravan points away from the path and towards the hedge. In our case, this means unhitching and pushing (we don't have a mover and don't want or need one). In this case, it was a reserved pitch that we had not chosen ourselves. There are supposed to be campers who are still on the road in old age. And yes, of course campers are helpful and lend a hand, but we still thought it was stupid and we've never had that before and we really travel a lot. Conclusion: nice site with flaws and nothing for us and our dog.Automatski prevedeno.

Ideal for excursionsNegativne straneNo WiFi on the site yet, but the manager is working on it. Long waiting times to order bread rolls. Gravel surface, appropriate pegs and hammer required. The wood heating in the sanitary buildings sometimes smells a bit.Beautiful, quiet location - ideal for excursionsWe stayed at the site for a week over Easter. The pitch with a view of the Wendhusen monastery was reasonably large and very quiet despite the proximity to the access road. The pitch was graveled, so you need appropriate tent pegs and a strong hammer.
The sanitary facilities were large enough, always... very clean, now usable without shower coins and - unlike Anja's criticism - always nice and warm. From the smell of it, the buildings are heated with wood. Yes, sometimes you can smell it and even ash particles fly around.
Bread rolls are delivered from the bakery trolley at 8:20 in the morning. You should pre-order them at reception the day before. You don't have to wait so long in the queue at reception.
WLan is in preparation - so far only available at reception.
Wernigerode and Quedlinburg are nearby and always worth a visit. We wanted to take the HSB to the Brocken, but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate.
With the spa card you get free bus transportation.

The wash house was locked because it was being renovated. Unfortunately, the washing up water was also rather lukewarm and so washing up at 6 degrees outside temperature was also rather annoying! For children there is a small playground, everything else is no longer available (mini golf course, soccer field).
