Pros: The small swimming spot on Lake Chiemsee is quite nice—coarse gravel you can lie on, direct access to the water, and well-suited for kids to splash around. However, water shoes are required here; otherwise, getting into the water will be uncomfortable.

Over 90 euros per night—that's extortion given the condition of the place
We stopped here for an overnight stay on our way south. We’re usually not too picky about places that are just for sleeping—but at €90.60 for two adults and two children, we expected a lot more. We also can’t recommend this spot for a longer stay; there were just too many issues that bothered us.

Directions... & Site:
The road to our site wound through several curves, where cars from the campground were parked—not an easy maneuver with a long trailer combination. The ground wasn’t clean gravel either, but full of small loose stones that we constantly tracked into the RV when getting in and out. There was no direct water access at the site—at this price, we would have expected that. For a simple place to stay overnight, we wouldn’t have minded, but at €90, we’re rating it accordingly.

Restroom Facilities (Biggest Point of Criticism):
The showers and washrooms are very outdated and, overall, seemed rather uninviting. Even small details were missing or problematic: In the shower stalls, there was only one hook for towels or clothes, and the benches were wet from previous users. On top of that, we were charged for 4 shower tokens without being asked, which we didn’t even use. In addition to a €3.90 energy surcharge, we were charged another €4 for electricity.

Pitch Density:
The pitches right by the water were extremely cramped—with a standard-sized trailer and awning set up, there was sometimes only about 10 cm of space between us and our neighbor. This would not have been permitted at other campgrounds for fire safety reasons.

Conclusion: Not recommended for either an overnight stopover or a longer stay.

We had arrived without a reservation and wanted to stay for two days; we were given a spot with the understanding that we would have to extend our stay the next day. When I went to the front desk the next day to extend our stay, it didn’t seem to be a problem, and we were able to stay in our spot. Half an hour later, the man from the front desk came over and told us we had to leave and move to another spot. We then had to wait until the other spot became available, so the day was already ruined. The prices also vary—the guy next to us paid 35 euros per day, while we paid 45 euros. The campground itself isn’t bad, though everything is a bit dated. The restaurant is worth recommending for a meal; the staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help.

Camping Panorama Camping Harras undoubtedly has a beautiful location right on Lake Chiemsee. Unfortunately, for us, that’s the only real plus.

Upon arrival, we were greeted in anything but a hospitable manner. The... owner spoke to my wife and the couple we were traveling with in a very unfriendly and grumpy way. He immediately complained that our RVs and cars were “in the way.” The irony was that the entrance was already largely blocked by cars that, according to the campground rules, weren’t supposed to be parked there at all. When we pointed this out, the owner wouldn’t hear of it and reacted in an irritated and unprofessional manner.

Unfortunately, this way of treating paying guests is consistent with several older reviews in which the owners’ attitude is also described as unfriendly and surly. It’s a shame that apparently little has changed here.

The restroom facilities are also severely outdated. The shower stalls look old, are very cramped, and give off a strong vinegar or musty odor. In addition, you still have to use shower tokens to take a shower, something that’s long since become a thing of the past at most campsites these days.

The campsites are on the small side, making it difficult to maneuver a caravan and car, especially when the drop-off area isn’t properly cleared.

The biggest drawback, however, is the price. We paid about €90 for one night, an amount that is completely out of proportion to the quality and facilities offered. For this price, you’d expect modern restrooms, a friendly welcome, and a campground that makes its guests feel welcome.

The Harras nature campsite definitely scores points with its fantastic location and direct lake view - it was really beautiful. Unfortunately, the positives almost stop there. The entire site is kept very simple and in many places didn't seem particularly clean and well-kept.

In the end, the price-performance... ratio was particularly disappointing: in our opinion, the site is clearly overpriced for what is on offer. Those who come mainly for the nature and the view could still be satisfied, but should not have high expectations when it comes to comfort, cleanliness and service.

Dogs - a washing area would be great. Since dogs sleep in tents /wowa/womo and it would be nice if you could clean the dog a bit beforehand.
Simply great
Coming here and feeling good is definitely possible. We stayed here for 5 nights in mid-August. The requirements for a campsite are fully met. We felt comfortable. 2 adults, 1 teenager and a child + dog. Recommendation - means against snails - the place is on the water.

Beautiful quiet location! Directly on the (Chiem)See. Campsite quite clean and the size of the pitches also ok! Staff - friendliness, OK but could be improved!

Sanitary facilities very outdated and dirty. All floors are cleaned with *one* and the same mop cover, be it in the shower rooms or the floors of the WC (toilets). The shower cubicles are also very dirty and in addition there are spiders/cobwebs everywhere. Price performance, it should definitely not be/become more expensive! Kiosk unfortunately not always occupied during opening hours, you had to make yourself noticed in the restaurant and get something in the kiosk!

Not possible to use credit cards. The ground consists of lots of stones - difficult to get a single plug down. The lawn was in poor condition
Tents and credit cards did not go well
Nice service, but should take a credit card. The excuse was high fees, but with a price that was over double what I've experienced so far on the trip (5th night), it should cover both fee and profit.

The site has a great location, our pitch was by the water with a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff were very friendly, the sanitary facilities simple but always clean.
The pitches were very cramped, we have only experienced such tight conditions on a few pitches before, never on campsites.
Fire protection?
The pricing policy is opaque, why do you pay an energy flat rate when everything has to be paid extra (shower and electricity)?

Poor value for money and racist owners
The sanitary facilities and other buildings are outdated, seem loveless and could urgently do with renovation. The pitches are very small and everything is very crowded; if you don't book a lakeside pitch for an extra charge (€20 per night), access to the lake is very limited and right next to another... pitch and the children's playground.
For the high price, we definitely expected more and are very disappointed with this campsite!

It is absolutely unacceptable that the colonial-racist N-word is used on the menu and defended by the owners as a Bavarian cultural asset. The N-word is historically associated with the dehumanization, devaluation, colonialism, slavery, rape and genocide of millions of Africans. According to the Duden dictionary, the N-word should be avoided, the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHG) has been appealing to restaurants for 15 years to use a different beverage name for cola wheat, in response to the resolution of the Arbeitskreis Panafrikanismus München (https://panafrikanismusforum.net/aktionen.html), the word was banned in Munich last year. The word is racist and not neutral. Two ways to deal with it - 1. acknowledge that it is racist and stop using the word or 2. continue to use the word and thus continue to reproduce and normalize racism. The owners opt for the latter and are not prepared to discuss the issue. And writing on the menu that the following is not meant to be discriminatory, but then using a racist word, does not make the whole thing any less discriminatory.
It is no effort to change a menu and it does not hurt to make an effort to use less discriminatory language. Nor does it hurt to question and change traditions that discriminate against other people.

All in all, we didn't feel comfortable at all!

Location is great, the rest rather "ok"
It's all about the location! We were there with a canoe and tent and benefited from the great location. If you can get a pitch right on the lake, it's MEGA.

Overall, however, the place is a bit "loveless" and looks run down. The restaurant has high prices and mediocre quality. The store is extremely... rudimentary. Getons in the shower are no longer an option in my opinion. We don't live in the 80s anymore, do we? I'd rather pay a bit more and be able to shower normally. Without time pressure and without having to search around for the Getons.

Unfortunately, the space has also become quite chaotic. There are cars parked everywhere (even on the access road) and someone is constantly maneuvering somewhere. I'm glad we were traveling with a tent and not a caravan ;-)

Bottom line: Quaint yes, top location. Comfort rather "well"

Far too expensive ... a few examples: - 15 reservation fee - you fill in, online, everything yourself... - 15.60 Euro energy flat rate -15,60 Euro electricity flat rate (4 days) - Showers 1 Euro/5 min (and in some showers only with luck warm water) - Dog almost 7 Euro/day ...i.e. with 2 adults +1 dog you are over 60 euros/day Reception not particularly friendly. You get the impression:"...we are not dependent on you, people come anyway because the place is right on the lake..."

Once and not again!!! See disadvantages.
Although we booked 4 motorhomes with 9 people at the beginning of the year, we saw nothing of the mountains and sea because we were placed in the farthest corner. There was a lot of hustle and bustle because campers were constantly arriving and departing.
Apart... from clean showers, the site basically offers nothing ... no WLAN either, fuses often blow even though not much is running...
That's not bad at all, but so many fees + costs in this amount is a rip-off!!!

Beautifully situated on a peninsula
We stayed there for one night on a 3-day trip around Lake Chiemsee with two kayaks. Although the site was fully booked, we were given a very friendly welcome and allocated a quiet campsite right on the water. The site is beautifully situated on a peninsula. There is a very popular restaurant with a very friendly landlady.

We stayed at the campsite for 4 nights.
Shorter than stated in the reservation.
Early departure was no problem. Very friendly reception.
Contrary to many reviews, I had a large pitch (corner plot)
With the caravans it could get a bit cramped though.
The sanitary facilities were constantly cleaned.
Bread... roll service is available.
Location is limited to the village of Prien. For longer distances the bus can be used nearby.
For a longer stay it can become monotonous.
Our stay was really pleasant.
We will be back.

There is almost nothing for children - a small playground is available but that's it. There are no sights nearby, you need a bike to see anything or a mobile.

We can only judge for the time (Easter 2022) when we were there!
The whole place was unkempt and the plots very narrow!
The sanitary facilities were clean, but there was no heating the doors were always open despite the cold.
The prices leave much to be desired for this place overpriced and who books... a lake place pays again extra. There is only electricity no water connection nearby. The disposal when leaving the place.
We stood near the lake and had followed the red markings until then everything was OK only when new arrivals wanted to put their caravan crosswise and almost bumped into our new motorhome and then put it straight in so that you couldn't open a door or window and the awning was set up with hammers until 23:00. The boss of the place pointed this out was unfriendly and she did not care. We wanted to leave but were told that we would still have to pay for the days we had booked.
For us it was not a nice Easter days and are an experience richer only this place we will never visit again.

We were on our way back from Croatia. As we knew the place from previous overnight stays, we wanted to take a break here again this time. To our surprise, the price for 2 people for an overnight stay had more than doubled to 44 euros. This was for a pitch of a maximum of 40 m2, without water or waste... water. Showers were charged extra.
In addition, a flat-rate electricity charge (included in the 44 euros) of €3.65 was far too high.
When we asked why it was so expensive (in contrast to before), we were answered:
After all, we are a campsite and not a transit site.
For us, and also for some others we spoke to there, this campsite is a thing of the past.

Probably the most beautiful and quiet campsite on Lake Hiemsee???
The pitch has no order whatsoever! The individual pitches are laid out in a chaotic manner, i.e. criss-crossed.
There are no escape routes for the individual pitches. The permanent campers have to cross the tourist pitches to enter or leave their pitch.
The unfriendliness of the operators is immediately... noticeable.
The age and therefore the condition of some of the sanitary facilities (according to the brochure: luxury sanitary facilities!, hardly any space, no shelves or hooks) are not up to date.
It is expressly stated that it is quiet time from 1pm to 2pm! Nobody adheres to this. The barrier was never closed during this time!
The fact that the pitches are small has been described. But that the neighbor is already half a meter away, you could not find out (see above - permanent campers)!
Compliance with the corona measures is required of the vacationers (FFP2 masks), the staff of the campsite and the restaurant only wear medical masks, and only below the nose!
A deposit is normal, but if €15 is then withheld for the reservation, I think that's cheeky! For what? Read 2 minutes of e-mail and reserve a seat....? A friend of mine was also charged €15 for one night! Is that greed?
The price for this place is in no way justified!!!
A comparison with the site in Übersee-Rödlgries, a well-kept, spacious and modern site that costs just as much, definitely does not stand up!
My conclusion: Not again! I want to relax and not be annoyed!
