- Railroad and main road are very noisy - Sanitary facilities need renovation
Quite ok
The campsite is getting on in years and needs renovation everywhere.
Sanitary facilities are mostly clean, but are clearly getting on in years.
Playgrounds are quite reasonable.

It feels like 80% of the pitches are occupied by permanent campers. As a holidaymaker you have to stand on a meadow in front of the actual pitch.
There is always noise pollution from the main road and the railroad.

large pitches, great surroundings
Negativne strane
From our point of view, there are a few.
We had hoped for more!
The design of the homepage suggests more than what you will find.

We had already booked in January and asked to get a place near the sanitary facilities and had to realize on arrival that this is not possible at all because the showers and toilets are quite far away from the pitches.
On the popular... weekends (Ascension Day, Whitsun) it gets quite colorful here and you are allowed to set up regular camps, which is rather less nice for vacation campers. It was not even possible to get through on the front pitch by bike.

The friendliness of the lady at the reception was also rather restrained.

If the site is not very busy then the sanitary facilities are clean and you can shower with hot water. Also the washing up points are quite far away, there is a small washing up house where you have to be lucky to get hot water.

There is no wifi on the pitch.

Our conclusion: You could do more!

Idyllic location by the Mühlbach stream and the Nahe river
Negativne strane
Partly a bit far to sanitary facilities
Clear recommendation, very relaxed atmosphere
A really nicely run campsite on the Nahe. Beautifully situated with a view of the vineyards and river.
Very nice operators. Relaxed atmosphere and a nice mix of guests. Spacious pitches on wide meadows (not strictly parceled out). Great for hiking or cycling in the immediate vicinity. Beautiful wineries... all around.
From some pitches a bit far to the sanitary facilities - but not really dramatic.
There is no possibility to buy groceries on site, but there are plenty of supermarkets in the vicinity. Bread roll service

Very nice, quiet, simple campsite with lots of possibilities! The children have lots of space to have fun - on land and in the water.
We were there with the caravan and stood on the meadow.
2 adults - 1 child - 1 dog
We can't rate the sanitary facilities as we were there after the 1st lockdown and weren't allowed to use them yet.
The toilets were clean!
We were very happy about the Christmas greetings by postcard!

You can only go shopping by car
Family-friendly place
Hikers' cabins are cozy and the beach nearby is great, especially for children. There is a restaurant and you can order bread rolls in the morning. You can buy ice cream and sweets in the sweet corner. A kiosk would be great.

Great tourist meadow on the Nahe
Negativne strane
A small store is missing
View of the Nahe and the vineyards
If you want to stop off directly on the Nahe, you're in good hands here. A friendly and uncomplicated site on the outskirts of Monzingen. The site is on the railroad line. But this does not disturb. The nearby road, on the other hand, is clearly audible (probably depending on the wind direction). The... site is quite large and stretches along the Mühlenbach stream and the Nahe river. A large unparceled meadow is available for tourists. Free choice of pitch. Electricity and fresh water are easily accessible. 2 sanitary buildings are available. Everything here is spotlessly clean and furnished with lots of individuality and charm. I wouldn't need the shower curtains in the spacious cabins now, but these were also practically new and didn't bother me. The permanent camper area unfortunately has a few unsightly corners. It's a shame when caravans and tents are left empty for too long. A small store with drinks and some snacks would have been nice. However, the restaurant is recommendable with a small and very tasty selection. Plus wines from the region. All at moderate prices. Friendliness is very important here. You feel at home

- the location in the beautiful Nahe wine valley - quiet, clean, very good gastronomy - wine tasting and numerous other offers
Far more than a campsite with dream grades
A warmly run three-generation business in a fantastic location opposite the vineyards of Mronzingen (although not directly on the Nahe). The campsite is quiet, clean, very well-kept and ideally suited for two- and four-legged children. There are pitches for caravans and tents, of course, but also rental... cabins and even tipis with soft, dry woodchip floors. The restaurant, which is open all day, has the ambition of a restaurant: in addition to excellent Nahe wines, Dutch Trappist beer is also served on tap and in bottles, and the food was varied, refined and of high quality. In the evening, you can attend a charmingly accompanied wine tasting in the vaulted cellar of the nearby mill with tasty snacks and an open end. The senior bakes his own bread, which sells out immediately. There are wellness offers, rental bikes and much more, which you can read about in a professionally produced brochure. The Sponheimer family aims to offer an all-round relaxation and enjoyment package in addition to an excellently managed campsite, and they more than live up to their claim. And at a pleasingly reasonable price. We (a couple in the Fiftys) will be back!

beautiful, quiet location; great playgrounds and sports fields
Negativne strane
Cleaning times in the sani (at 23:00 someone calls in "We're locking up now!"), rough gravel surface
Camping at the mill
We were with 2 adults and a camper with awning from 27.07.2018 to 29.07.2018 on the campsite "Nahemühle". We paid €23.90 for the pitch including showers, electricity and waste disposal. The contact in advance by email was very friendly, a reservation was quickly confirmed and arriving after 8pm was no... problem. The campsite is well signposted and easy to reach. It is located on the outskirts of Monzingen, below the railroad tracks, next to a small industrial area and the sports field, in the immediate vicinity of the Nahe. The tourist pitches, which only take up a small part of the campsite, are spread over a meadow, with no parceled-out pitches and you can set up on the allocated area, depending on the desired view and length of the power cable. Fresh water is available at 2(?) well stations on the meadow, which are easy to reach due to their manageable size. There are also rental hikers' cabins on the meadow and an adjacent area for campers (and tent groups) - unfortunately, we had the misfortune that a "regulars' table" group had set up their "drinking binge" on the same weekend and not everyone adhered to the quiet rules or chose to go to the toilet to relieve themselves! The paths to the sanitary facilities were somewhat poorly lit in the evening and unfortunately not so easy to walk on with flip-flops due to the coarse gravel. The sanitary facilities themselves are a bit older, but clean and furnished with "attention to detail". The shower rooms are completely closed from 23:00-04:00 and also during the day from 13:00-15:00, so that even on a beautiful summer day you have to make sure that you are "ready for bed" in good time! Alternatively, there is of course a washbasin in the toilet area and, according to the "Camping A-Z", new individual showers, which can be booked as an option (we didn't test them). You can buy pre-ordered bread rolls in the morning in the restaurant next to reception. You can also find the "essentials" and a little decoration, jewelry and souvenirs in the campsite's own shop "Schnick Schnack". There are several playgrounds, soccer, volleyball and basketball courts, as well as a boccia court and the Mühlbach stream and the Nahe river behind it for splashing around. There is also entertainment during the high season. We were interested in the Nahe cycle path, which passes about 2 km from the campsite and offers great excursion destinations for young and old on a mostly flat route. We opted for excursions to Bad Kreuznach (37 km) and a round trip along the "Naheskywalk" in Kirn (approx. 20 km). There is also a barefoot path, gemstone museum and mine, and much more.

...it was damn dead here.the place was deserted, the meadows empty, the permanent campers not on site.no problem at all,if the surrounding area wasn't also dull....Monzingen?you can safely forget it!Sobernheim?well....the sauna is recommendable, but otherwise?!Idar-Oberstein was described in a travel guide... as worth seeing....I can't agree with that and would describe it as built up.only the gemstone mine was worthwhile.... overall we liked the area around Bad Münster much better

Pure relaxation - children happy
Our first trip with the old "new" caravan. Uncomplicated reservation, great service on site - whether at registration, bread service or in the restaurant. Children happy, parents happy. The choice of pitch was left to us, as there weren't many tourists visiting the region that week. we'll be back :-)... Conclusion: friendly & competent service when booking and on site, sanitary facilities were clean and well maintained, pitch was well maintained with a short lawn, electricity boxes a little further away depending on the pitch, restaurant on site also tasty, bread roll service also works
