"Ok as a stopover - At lunchtime, the reception desk seemed to be unmanned, and there was often no one there in between. Despite making a reservation, we didn't get a baguette. W-LAN only around the reception.

"Nice place in the swamp (mosquitoes!!!) - The site is well maintained, the reception is friendly and the proximity to the center of Briare is sufficient on foot and good by bike. As is usually the case in France, the sanitary facilities are not up to northern European standards.

"Now apparently 3 star but it is not! - This is an old 2 star camping municipal run by a private company who have got a 3rd star but for what? Wi Fi maybe. Toilets and showers are basic, cleaning is just about acceptable. Make this a 1 night stay because Briare is a loverly little town, setting is quite and nice walk to town along canal paths
