Bettina G.September 2025Unfortunately not recommendedThe hygienic conditions and the dilapidated furniture in House 66 were actually unacceptable. We were very disappointed with what we were expected to do this year.
It was definitely not an exclusive house. I hope you take our complaint seriously and if you do, you should actually pay us back the price... difference to a standard house. And that's not even counting the overall condition.
The bathroom had massive black mold on the lower tile joints and a very dirty toilet. The window could not be opened without the sash coming towards us. It smelled very musty even though we always had the window open due to the mold.
The walls in the bedroom were smeared with indefinable dirt and there were small brown lumps hanging from the ceiling.
The kitchen is a simple kitchenette like we remember from our beginnings at Rainbow Camp. So 15 years ago. Old electrical appliances, the extractor filter was brown, the cupboard doors were loose and the fridge was missing 2 shelves and the door compartments were broken out. So we could hardly store our food to be cooled in the fridge. The waste garbage can in the kitchen cupboard no longer had a lid. The dishwasher could not be opened at the same time as the base unit as there was not enough space for it. The flap for the rinse aid was broken and the dishes didn't get clean. We always had to rinse.
In the attic room, a whole drawer was missing from the chest of drawers. The front of another one didn't hold.
Before we arrived we asked for a house without bunk beds as we were traveling with our 4 adult children. Last year, the bunk bed was dismantled and fitted into the room. Unfortunately this didn't work this year. When we asked again, a technician came to dismantle it for us, but not across the corner but side by side and our adult children had 20 cm to get into the bed. There were screws sticking out of the wood on the terrace.
Overall, the accommodation was not clean and I had to clean it again. The furniture and floor were unpleasantly dirty.
We have been going to Regenbogen Camp Boltenhagen for 15 years, sometimes twice a year, but it got worse every year. Once we had a house that deserved the description exclusive house. So we know what it can look like. But apparently we got the reject. Actually, we should have been refunded the entire price of the trip. Recovery was not.
If you would like photos, please let me know. I have documented the whole thing.
I hope you can find a conciliatory solution for us.
I reported the shortcomings on arrival and again on departure and the ladies at reception made a note of everything and told me to contact the head office and fill in this questionnaire.

The reception and the general... ambience are very nice, but I don't pay to enter the reception once, I pay for the sanitary facilities and a nice pitch. Very dark due to the high edge of the forest with very tall poplars. The individual pitches are not well laid out in terms of ground conditions. When it rains, the water collects in deep puddles and mud. The wash house 1 in this area is absolutely not... up to standard: toilet doors open inwards, which is very unpleasant in such small cabins, the drains in the showers do not do enough, so that you stand in a lot of dirty water when showering. There are also too few hooks for hanging clothes in the shower cubicles and the floor in the entire sanitary building is almost always wet and slippery, the air is musty. All in all a no-go.
The other two wash houses made a better impression, as did the pitches at the front and center of the site.
If a separate dog area is designated, more dog bags and garbage cans should be placed nearby.
The proximity to the beach and the center of Boltenhagen with nice restaurants and events is commendable.
Overall, just under 100 euros per night for 2 people with a dog is completely excessive. Other large shower house smells disgusting and it was written about in a review a year ago and apparently it doesn't matter - it hasn't been done in anything.
The restaurants are nice and the reception too but that's the only thing.
No water connection and no waste water at any pitch. And waste water (the one silver barrel) is also catastrophic!
Washbasins outdated and getting on in years.
Entire facility outdated and entrance or driveway is a disaster. Vacationers constantly obstruct each other on the much too narrow path.
Loveless entrance area and not practical.
Suggestion: wide entrance and crosswalk twice as wide.
Caravans and motorhomes arriving early are in the way.
There is a QR code but you can't check in with it.
The playhouses and entire playground is outdated and not maintained.
People from the rainbow camp were all consistently friendly but the people on the site mostly unfriendly. But that's down to the personalities themselves
Just invest more in the entire facility.
The location is so beautiful and so is Boltenhagen!
Why don't you do more there?
Take examples from all the campsites in Holland. Everything there is child-friendly, modern and up to date! Unfortunately, I think it's a bit much to pay around €90 a day for cold shower water and that you feel like you're in a "sardine tin" on your pitch. In addition, waste water could not be used on the pitch as the water unfortunately does not flow up the mountain.... Due to the difference in height between the caravan and the drain, the water didn't run off. Perhaps the height ratio between the pitch and the drain should be reconsidered. I also think the washrooms should be cleaned more than once a day in high season. At least the sanitary building 1 which was close to our pitch. For these reasons, I don't think the price-performance ratio is right and would expect hot water for showers at this price and that the e.g. waste water is usable. - Peter F.July 2025Poor and price/performance ratio not coherentThere is an investment backlog on your entire site, the price / performance ratio is not guaranteed at any point, the pitches look unkempt, very high grass everywhere, the parking situation in front of wash house 3, permanent campers park there the entire period; your sanitary facilities are dirty, unclean,... simply not okay for the prices you charge, your cleaning is also catastrophic, the floor in the washing-up area has not been cleaned in the entire period, the surfaces have indeed been cleaned very superficially. Your cleaning interval of the sanitary facilities is also definitely wrong, in the morning (or at night) 4.30 and then again in the afternoon 15.30/16.30 - that's really not nice, we were just glad that the facility was not fully booked or well attended - although you had initially given us a rejection by mail because of your booking??? Incidentally, your cleaning staff are extremely unfriendly !!!! The tech. The technical condition of your sanitary facilities is also borderline in the long run - MEN'S AREA: 2 out of 5 showers DEFECTIVE in the entire period, an information sign had been hanging there since May; in the ladies' area as well and a shower cubicle door is so jammed that even a child got locked in there unintentionally and only came out with loud cries for help, which we heard on our pitch and with the help of my wife!!!
We also found their disposal of gray water or chemical toilets to be very unclean and absolutely out of date -
We also found the entire program on your site disappointing under the impression that we are actually already in season according to the calendar.
The site is poorly lit or not lit at all in the dark.
Your overnight pitch in front of the barrier is also in a very poor state of maintenance - we also spent one night here;
Well, we also found your service staff at the reception to be rather unfriendly and stressful, we did not feel welcome; example: we only asked on the morning of 27.06.2025 when we could enter the facility - the answer was totally annoyed and bossy .... before 2 pm not possibly try from 12 pm; on our question how we proceed with our accompanying convertible - here we have to call up an additional fee of 5 € per day - we also felt that this was not really service customer-oriented. A further question on our part whether we can now wait with our motorhome in the designated parking lot - we were told - no - you can drive to Netto there are parking spaces, as the spaces would have to be kept free for check-in - well we wanted to check in and if this is only possible from 12 or 14, we don't bother there. No was replied again. We drove to NETTO and came back at 12 ... o'clock and were then able to check in . However, during our stay we realized that the parking ban was not valid for everyone, in the course of the next 3 days Fri, Sat, Sun a car was parked there all the time !!!!
Conclusion for us: We are very disappointed with this camping vacation (on the road for more than 25 years) - rarely have we spent our time so badly; we also did not receive an explanation of the breakdown of our bill.
A tip: Your marketing manager or internet admin and designer should spend some vacation or time on your site.
In this sense, we remain with kind regards in the hope that you will take on your tasks for the next vacationers a nice, great and eventful time.

Playground was used several times after 10pm by noisy children.
The handling of the charging station is awkward and... led to an overbooking. We would have liked the remaining amount back.
Massages are offered in the app and on posters. But there were none. We feel we were taken for a ride.
The showers are catastrophic. You can scald yourself when you turn them on and when you turn them off you are showered with ice-cold water. You get wet shoes in the single washing machine when someone is showering next door.

This can happen - nobody is immune to unforeseen events. At a price of almost EUR 80 per night on a sodden meadow, as a guest I can expect the package to be right.
A second annoyance: We had already booked in October 24. On 21.11.24 we then received an advertising email. Their offer: With the code "HAPPY25" 10% off every booking until the beginning of December. So everyone who had already booked was out of luck.
Positive: We always found the team on site to be friendly and obliging - great.

The sanitary buildings were insufficient in terms of capacity and not very well maintained. Hot water was not always available in the sanitary blocks or for washing up.
During our... stay, only 3 of the 5 showers in the men's area were in operation and the remaining 2 were defective. It is technically impossible to regulate the water temperature in the showers.
Of 3 urinals, 2 did not drain.
The staff at the registration desk gave the impression that they were just doing their job.

But if reliability on the part of the provider is important to you, you should avoid this campsite.
We had booked seven nights and had to pay in advance. After five days, the last of three sanitary buildings... on the sparsely occupied site was closed without prior notice. We returned from an excursion to find the doors locked. A call to the campsite's emergency services revealed that the last sanitary building had been closed to save energy. We could use the (insufficiently ventilated) toilet next to the restaurant and, after all, we had booked a pitch with fresh and waste water connections. You could also use the facilities in the caravan/mobile home for showering and washing. I was speechless - I had never experienced anything so brazen in my 50 years of camping.
When we left early the next day, there were of course no words of apology or regret to be heard at reception. We were offered a voucher for the unused period. It should be clear that we refused - the Regenbogencamping Boltenhagen will never see us again. Close to the beachNegatiivisetThe last little things that would justify the price are missingThe finishing touches are missingOn the day of arrival, despite registering a large caravan, we were allocated a rather small pitch, but on the second day we were able to move to a sufficiently large, shady pitch. However, it is not possible to get a satellite signal on the pitches by the forest. We were therefore pleased that the signal... from the supply pillar worked well.
Although the new pitch was empty before we moved, the grass had not been mowed before we moved, so it was about 40 cm high when we left.
Apparently the grass is mowed every 14 days and the pitches that are occupied are just out of luck.
It seems to be similar with the cleaning of the anteroom of the comfort baths. A pair of swallows were nesting there and the droppings directly in front of a comfort bath were swept away once every three weeks, even if baths were cleaned in between. The comfort bath is small and not exactly cheap at €18.50. Nevertheless, there were occasional problems with the hot water, but not so bad that we had to complain.
Despite the large number of dogs, there is only one (almost always empty) poop bag dispenser with only one waste garbage can.
The staff are friendly and helpful, but not really motivated, I got the impression.
The reception cannot be reached by phone (understandable with 1-2 people and crowds), but emails are responded to relatively quickly. Only helps to a limited extent on the day of arrival and the announcement on the answering machine is then annoying.
Sanitary 1 has the charm of a sports field and the sinks "in the open air" are a cheek given the prices that are charged here. Hot water with a pressure washer that runs for a maximum of 5 seconds.
The washing machine app works well. Even if I had to be shown the defective door opening, which was not repaired even after 1 week, by a cleaner.
The supply columns are in order. The water distribution with small brass valves is fiddly. Womos and even more caravans, which had to beg for water because it was not important for them to have one or two taps and flushing facilities.......
Washing alienated and expensive,
Service feels different, according to our experiences at home and abroad in the same price range.
That's a shame, because the camp is in a good location...and Boltenhagen is nice, but the location alone doesn't do it....there's plenty of room for satisfactory or good...

The reason for this was that, unlike planned, we had to look after our grandchildren for these two days. This was our third time at the Rainbow Camp and we had already booked and paid for our New Year's Eve vacation in August.... We had therefore expected an accommodating solution. Unfortunately, this is not possible at Regenbogencamp. They demanded watertight proof, which of course we were unable to provide.
We then arrived as planned and left 2 days earlier, even though we had paid for the entire vacation!
Some of the pitches were very rough, presumably caused by wild boar.
Furthermore, there was no hot water in the sanitary building every day.
