Lot size, friendliness, endless activities for children, great swimming lake, cleanliness of the campground

Some water faucets are quite far away; the restroom facilities could use some modernization; at the dishwashing area (Waschaus 3), only boiling hot water is available, with no way to mix in cold water
A beautiful campground near the border
On our way back from our “big” summer vacation, we were still looking for a spot near the border where we could stay for a few days. Because of the heat, a lake where we could swim was more of a necessity than a luxury.
Since all the well-known spots near the border (DeLeistert, Terspegelt, Breebronne,... Beringerzand, etc.) seemed to be bursting at the seams, we happened to come across Vakantiepark DeBergen, which still had some availability.
I can’t understand why this place flies completely under the radar. A mini roller coaster, several inflatable play structures, a sack slide, electric cars for kids, free rowboats, a fantastic and huge indoor playground, a massive swimming lake with a sandy beach and a water slide, etc.……
You’re not likely to find any kids here complaining of boredom.
The campsites (we had a standard one) have a 10A electrical hookup and are separated from each other by hedges. Water and wastewater facilities are located centrally at the restroom building, which could use some modernization. Cleaning was done twice a day, so there was no shortage of cleanliness.
We’ll definitely be back and hope that the campground becomes a bit better known among “border campers.”

The sheer size of the site as a whole and the camping fields, the park-like layout, clean sanitary blocks, incredibly large outdoor adventure park and indoor playground, large bathing lake with sunbathing lawn, beach all around, crystal-clear water, extra dog play area in the forest, restaurant with a view of the lake. Friendly ladies at reception.
Negatiiviset
Take-offs / landings and flyovers of military jets from the nearby military base on Good Friday, as this day is not a public holiday in NL. The supermarket is more of a mini-market. Fresh rolls/bread, sausage and cheese only poorly offered, no meat at all. Payment only by card at terminals. Return of sold deposit bottles not possible. Sat reception possibly only possible to a limited extent due to the many trees in the park. No hot water and no plugs at the sinks.
Huge camping park for tourists and permanent campers
Vakantiepark de Bergen is now part of the Eldoradoparken group, which is home to several campsites in the Netherlands. I was really impressed by the size of the whole area. Whether for tourist campers or permanent campers with Stacaravans / Chaltes. The pitches are always at the edge of a pitch area.... This creates a lot of open space in the middle, which creates a feeling of space. The facilities in the sanitary blocks are functional and really clean. Only the sinks should have hot water and a plug for the basin as well as cold water. The large bathing lake with beach, clear water, huge water slide, toilets and showers at the edge won me over. Definitely the highlight in summer. An incredibly large adventure park with jumping pillows, mat slides, climbing things, swings, electric cars, paddle boat and fishing pond, picnic areas, frituur / snack bar and much more. There is also an indoor playground in a large hall next to the restaurant. What more could a child's heart want? For the dogs there is a separate play park in a forest. And separate areas for dog business, with a shovel and bucket for disposal. The mini market is not my cup of tea. Paying €2 for bread rolls with a card. Is that necessary? All in all, a great place that I will definitely visit again in the summer.

Positiiviset
A really nice big park with lots of fun and games for young and old. From giant slide to indoor playground, rowing boat, minigolf, Kettcar track, electocross and so much more, and except for the minigolf nothing costs more €. Pitches are on grass and quite large. The site has a huge swimming lake with a slide, a supermarket which I personally found a bit expensive but has everything you need.
Negatiiviset
Sanitary facilities, toilets and showers are just like in a swimming pool and not always 100% in order. Hardly any water comes out of the showers. It might be time for some improvements.
Super place with small exceptions
All in all a great place for the whole family. Something for everyone :)

Sanitary facilities partly defective or damaged, but more than enough available for low season; showers unfortunately no longer free.
Regular place for a short vacation
For many years a regular place for a group meeting, out of season Large areas, natural swimming pool and large adjoining playground for children from about 3 years. Plenty of freedom of movement and hardly any regulations in the off-season
