The entrance to the site alone seemed very unkempt and uninviting. The reception looked as if the site had been abandoned for at least 10 years. There is a toilet trailer which is quite clean. The washroom and kitchen were very dated and not really foreseeable. There are a lot of permanent campers and obviously no value is placed on short-term campers. The view of the site would be totally beautiful and idyllic if it were well maintained and certainly also because it has a nice swimming pool next to it. Unfortunately, investments would have to be made. We left after an hour and a half.

Proximity to the relatively nice but simple outdoor pool

Quiet only after 11pm, poor site infrastructure, poor dilapidated sanitary building, outdoor pool not included in the price, no real access to the lake for short-term campers (only for permanent campers), shower times only until 8pm, overall far too expensive.
Hot weekend in a dilapidated square
If you read what I wrote under the negative points, there's not much left to say. For people who have no problems with loud music and partying, it's certainly not a problem. For everyone else, I'm afraid I have to say... Look for another place.

Friendly campsite near the Kyffhäuser mountain
Small campsite near Nordhausen in the north of Thuringia. Large pitches for tourist campers. Relaxed, informal atmosphere including morning bread roll service (order via WhatsApp, delivery directly to the tent!). The site is located by a pond with an adjacent, well-maintained outdoor pool. It is not... possible to swim in the pond itself, but it is full of fish. Anglers are allowed to fish past the permanent campers' pitches right up to the shore. Contact with other anglers is quickly established. There are many excursion destinations in the area. The monkey forest in Straußberg and the huge model train exhibition in Wiehe are particularly recommended for children. The Kyffhäuser Monument and the Barbarossa Cave are also worth a visit. Both can be visited in one day. You can also spend many enjoyable hours on horseback at the riding stables in neighboring Wollersleben. The Nordhausen gravel pits are home to one of the clearest lakes in Germany, ideal for diving and learning to dive. There is no kiosk on the campsite. However, you can shop in the supermarkets in the surrounding villages and especially in the "tegut" supermarket. The best grilled sausages are available from the butcher in Nohra. The campsite's sanitary facilities are so-so, but are due to be completely renovated in winter 2019. The waste disposal behind the reception is in need of renovation. After the harvest at the end of August, strong odors from the field must be expected. The adjacent country road is sometimes audible, but quiet in the evening at the latest. Overall, the site is worth a visit and lives from its friendly atmosphere, the large pitches, a hard-working groundskeeper and the really nice permanent campers. The price/performance ratio is still right here. I give it 3 stars, for 4 stars the infrastructure should be a little better.

Easter 2016 stay
Beautifully situated campsite in the vicinity of Nordhausen, Sonxershausen and the Harz Mountains. At Easter a beautiful Easter holiday was lit on the site including catering with fresh Thuringian sausages. Lots of nice campers.

It's a fairly small site, which is incredibly quiet and beautifully situated on two sides of a small lake. On the other side of the lake is the local outdoor pool and a boat rental service, including pedal boats. The reception is not permanently manned, but the operators are always available by phone.... We were there this weekend and were apparently the only "non-permanent campers". But there was no reason to feel uncomfortable. The sanitary facilities are clean and adequate for the size of the site. There is also a single wash cubicle (for the men for sure). There is a small playground and a fire pit, but with small children you should be aware of the danger of open water! There is a lake on one side and a gurgling stream on the other.
