The restaurant is virtually non-existent on the campsite and has been the only major criticism of the site for years. It is de facto an uncovered, completely overpriced chip shop with 1-2 men for sometimes 50 guests on site. The people... are not well organized, simple fries take forever because they are not prepared efficiently and with foresight. I won't say anything more about the additional 0.70 cents for a blob of ketchup. There needs to be a completely different concept where it's fun to get a snack at lunchtime (the store doesn't open until 5pm!) or have a sunset drink in the evening that doesn't come out of a can. The only small downside: we found the prices at the snack bar a little too high compared to what was on offer, but the taste was great. The wash houses are modern, super clean and thoughtfully equipped, right down to the gastro dishwasher, which can be used free of charge.
We found the campsite to be very child and dog friendly. Great playgrounds and a modern bathing pond for two-legged... friends and several access points to the stream and a large run for four-legged friends to run around in.
Despite being fully booked over Easter, the site was quiet and not overcrowded. The sandy ground absorbs a lot of rain, so the site is suitable for all weathers.
You can reach numerous grocery stores and the town center on foot or by bike from the campsite. The nearby old town of Celle is also worth a visit.

It was our first time here at Campingpark Südheide and we were totally thrilled! The arrival with the check in in advance was already a highlight. Arriving and simply driving through to the pitch without a long wait.
The pitches are nice and big. Electricity, WLAN and the use of the sauna... and swimming pond are all-in. The sauna area is fantastic! A 60° and a 90° sauna. 2 infrared seats in case your back pinches and great places to rest and lie down.
The shower houses we saw are as good as new and well maintained!
The playgrounds are all top and the places to play on the small "beach" very pleasant to linger. When it rained, bouncy castles were set up in the riding hall (in addition to the small playroom that you can use).
There is even a small agility course for 4-legged friends.
The burgers at the snack bar were also really good!
I thought about it for a while, but found nothing to complain about ;)

It's worth going here. The pitches are generously laid out and beautifully bordered with hedges. We were in the new part, absolutely great sanitary building (always... top clean incl. wellness), kitchen with 2 kitchenettes, chairs/benches/tables/induction stove etc., great washing-up facilities, playgrounds, swimming pond. The old part is also very nice with the location on the river and has the flair of "camping from childhood days", you can get necessary things at the reception / other shopping facilities in about 2- 4 kilometers (Rewe or Edeka, butcher's shop etc.).
