A beautifully situated campground in the pine forests behind the Atlantic dunes. We felt right at home here and were able to relax. The ocean is only about 300 meters away. There are also plenty of well-maintained bike paths and hiking trails.

The renovated restroom facilities may be visually appealing, but they aren't well thought out. The prices are way too high.
Money makes the world go round
The pricing led to a gentrification of the guests. During peak season, €100 or more for a campsite...
Okay, the restrooms were renovated, but how? No urinals. Open-air sinks.
Some showers lack splash guards. Heat builds up in the buildings. Poor, careless cleaning. In our block, there were no sinks... for doing a quick load of laundry.
No swimming pool, no better playground, or anything like that. No water or sewage connections at the campsites. Wi-Fi costs extra; choosing your campsite when booking costs extra. Nothing that justifies the high price.

It starts with the great multilingual reception. The pitches have a park-like character. There is a nice supermarket with sometimes exorbitant prices. The nearby beach and the sea are reason enough to love this site.

Pure campsite under pine trees without mobilhomes and without permanent campers! Uncomplicated, friendly, multilingual reception (including German), very good and inexpensive supermarket on site. The beach can be reached via a path through the dunes in 10 minutes. Places on the basin easily accessible by bike.

Casual camping like in the old days
We spent 10 nights at this site, which is very popular with surfers, campers and van drivers. Camping here is still like it used to be, without much luxury and very relaxed. We recommend an oyster tasting at the oyster farmers' huts in Herbe and, of course, the gigantic Atlantic waves.

A real campsite, without rental properties. Fantastic location on one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. Active vacations, relaxation, everything is possible.

Few restaurants or localities within walking distance. Apart from the campsite restaurant, which we didn't visit. But not because it looked bad there :) )
simply fantastic!
An incredibly beautiful place, right in a pine forest. The pitches are all under trees, but by no means dark. It's easy to get to the beach: cross the road, over the dune and you're there. The nature is great, the nearest town is easily accessible by car in 10-15 minutes and there are good shopping opportunities... there. The kiosk on site also offers a lot, but at slightly more expensive prices than in the city, which was all in all reasonable.
Very suitable for surfing or a relaxed nature vacation. I didn't make the trip to Bordeaux at the time.
Ps: I was there once before about 8-10 years ago and it was so good back then that I had to come back again.
There are fixed pitches and a large "meadow" or a place where you can just stand there, without fixed pitches. We called spontaneously beforehand in 2020 and were there 2 days later and also spontaneously extended a bit :)

Great beaches and pine forests
The campsite is beautifully situated in a pine forest. The large sandy beach is only a 5-minute walk away. The campsite is for young people, families with children and tolerant older people. It can get noisy, but the staff make sure that no one overdoes it. Some pitches have a clear incline. In high season it can get quite crowded. My wife and I have been coming back to the campsite for many years and are very satisfied.

No flexibility in the allocation of parking spaces, dogs running free
Good location is not everything
We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to a pitch. Unfortunately right next to the playground (no children of our own) and close to the road and bar. The pitch was not full and we asked for an alternative. That was the end of the friendliness. No!! We asked why and no reason was given. Of... course the boss is in charge.... we would have expected at least an explanation or reasons. Friendliness is important when customers are not satisfied! The place probably doesn't need it. Some dogs are not on a leash (neighboring plot) and run freely across the site. I did not notice any dog excrement. As we were free to make our own decision, we left after one night and didn't stay four nights as planned.

Sanitary facilities are outdated and are not cleaned with disinfectant, only swept.dog owners mostly let their dogs run free and poop on the pitch. Therefore totally unsuitable for families with small children.the lighting on the site is inadequate at night.

I'm here for the third year in a row now and I've noticed that people are getting bolder and bolder with their dogs. Letting them run free is the least of it. Most people only go for a short walk around the site to urinate and then have no problem doing it at the water points and then letting their dog... drink there too. Most of the defecation takes place on the campsite and the droppings are already collected. However, this should also be done outside. The droppings are left there. It stinks of dog excrement on the way to the beach. Although dogs are not allowed on the beach, this is simply ignored, especially by German vacationers.

Beautiful surroundings, somewhat remote
The place is somewhat overrated. The location is beautiful on the beach, very remote for other activities, long drive to reach or leave the headland, so it's better to stay there. The money was collected in advance, which I find unfriendly and inflexible. The pitches are a bit cramped. Unfortunately... also a bit unclean, we brought bugs home as souvenirs. Very poor waste separation and, depending on the pitch, sometimes very long distances to sanitary facilities, water and waste disposal. It is a mystery to me why there is no hand soap and toiletries, which should actually be included in the price. Mediocre bread, there is better in the area. But otherwise a quiet and relaxed place in parts.

If it weren't for the dog owners
Just one night on the pitch was enough for us. If it wasn't for the many dog owners, it could have been more nights. We were actually lucky with the pitch, there were only older campers next to us without four-legged friends. But in the morning, several other campers let their dogs run around the pitches without a lead, pissing and pooping. Nothing was picked up. Never again.

Very well recovered...
We stayed at the campsite for three weeks in August, the absolute high season, with our dog and teenage son, who was absolutely thrilled with the pitch, the sea, the waves and the surf school. We adults enjoyed getting up early and going to the market.... We can't say anything negative about the campsite or the operator, everything was great, we'll be back next year.
