"Pure nature - I found a bathing pond with animals and lots of greenery. Brilliant! Unspoiled nature no longer exists, at least not in our part of the world. But the camping family does everything it can to protect nature. And offers guests an indescribably beautiful experience. There is local beer to buy and incredibly beautiful animal photography to see. And children can run around and let their nature run free. Attention is also paid to those in need of peace and quiet like me. Unfortunately, I was only there for one night. Nevertheless: a great place! Highly recommended! I'll be back! Alke Kerber

"Camping with a dog - avoid the site - Campers with dogs are accommodated on a separate, offside pitch. In contrast to the main pitch, this pitch is clearly inferior in terms of facilities and appearance. Dogs are not allowed on the main site. This means that access to the park with its beautiful trees, the small beach, the lakeshore with a view over the idyllic lake, .....all of the things that the operator uses to advertise its site cannot be used with dogs. The operator does not point this out at all, or not clearly enough. As the sanitary facilities,... are also located on the main square, good planning is also required here, as dogs are also not allowed on the very spacious and covered forecourt. It may also be difficult for campers with children who have a dog with them. When visiting the beach playground, you have to choose between supervising your dog and accompanying your children and grandchildren. The separate pitch for campers with dogs is already visually very inferior, so you have to accept compromises in terms of access, the path and hedge trimming. There is only one lantern in the front area. The flashlight is very much in demand here. There are apparently permanent camper pitches that give the impression that they have not been maintained for a long time (partly overgrown). There are no trees. The lawn is well-kept. The electrical connections at the box are OK. I was treated very friendly by the campsite staff with my dog, but also extremely rudely. This site is not recommended for campers with dogs - my opinion: better avoid My rating below refers to camping with a dog.

"A place to keep your brain safe. - If you are looking for peace and deep relaxation in nature, this is the place for you. However, tranquillity does not mean boring. I'm always happy to see the children, who enjoy moving freely in nature. My husband and I have actually become permanent campers and look forward to every day we get to spend there. The small lake invites us to watch the many birds every day. And when the red kite circles over the lake, our happiness is perfect. It's actually a bit difficult to describe exactly what makes this place so special. I only know one thing...... drive through the gate and Zack..... happy. Hence my title. After all the negative news and stress of everyday life, you need a place to put your brain in a safe place. Hofgut Schöneren does that every day. Sylvia from Karlsruhe

"Well, appearances are deceptive - We stayed there for almost two days on Saturday and left as quickly as possible on Sunday. The offers from the tenants were almost all big lies. The lake is just a swamp with pathogens, the meadow is only mowed where we were so the guests and the crowning glory are the electrical boxes in the visible area all new but where you can not see them well all disintegrate in itself, in the rain life-threatening. We spoke to a couple of permanent campers about why they don't report this and the answer was short - they don't want to be given notice or banned from the site, I can understand that almost all of them are over 70 and all of them want to be able to live out the few years in peace with the tenant. As proof we documented this with photos, not the wrong ones of the tenant.

"Not idyll but swamp - Not recommended for normal people only for reckless people who have too much money and don't need it.

"Very quiet campsite - The site seemed deserted in August. We were alone on the site with about 7 or 8 other campers. Many of the festival campers' pitches were deserted. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Relaxing is the order of the day here. Cycling tours from the campsite are only possible to a very limited extent. They often take you along roads. There are no cycle paths. The lake has very little water due to the drought and is almost completely overgrown with aquatic plants. We didn't go swimming there.
