The owner is super friendly and always ready to listen to guests. It’s basically very laid-back—no reservation needed; just pick a spot and park up! The site has plenty of eye-catching features (like the tram-themed reception area, etc.), and you can see the “attention to detail” in many places.

Could this be a problem for working campers who can only come on the weekend—maybe because the campground is full? That’s what we were thinking; we were there during the week, and it was still pretty busy even in September. The restrooms are functional but not exactly places to relax.
A nice place for a city trip
We were just passing through, but if we ever go to Jena again, we'd definitely come back.

A very nice campground
We’ve been to the campground before, and I was really looking forward to going back. It’s a cozy, welcoming place where you immediately feel at home and don’t want to leave. It’s a shame we live so far away—otherwise I’d visit the campground much more often. It’s so beautifully situated in nature, yet... everything is within easy reach on foot or by bike. The outdoor pool is right next door, the town and shopping are right on-site, and it’s in a great location for hiking and biking.
The campground itself is very beautiful and very clean, with very friendly staff—you just feel right at home and can’t wait to come back 🥰

Best relaxation on a very well-kept campsite
I think the principle of arriving without a reservation is great. Of course you can be unlucky, but it saves you having to go back and forth.
On arrival, I found everything to be very clean, tidy and, above all, cozy. Small but nice! That's exactly what the saying goes.
The host is very patient with the guests and always gives information and tips for excursions.

Cozy, small square
Absolutely recommendable place where you immediately feel welcome. Even a youth group doesn't get in the way. The rustic reception in an old streetcar carriage is a real eye-catcher.

A campsite surrounded by greenery on the outskirts of the city, where our pupils were once again able to spend eventful days getting to know each other as part of the start of the school year project. Thanks are due to Mr. Albrecht, who is open to our project every year and contributes to its success with his kindness and care. After the camp is before the camp and so we are already looking forward to next year.

The campsite is very easy to reach. Whether by public transport, bicycle, car or via numerous hiking trails. There is a swimming pool next to the site and water sports are possible in the nearby Saale river.

Small campsite with friendly operator
Here you can still experience original camping! The well-kept grounds offer space for both caravans
as well as tents, although space can sometimes be tight (Saaleradweg, many short-stay campers).
There are the essentials on the site (drinks, breakfast rolls) but no catering.
The buildings on the site... are rustic wooden huts, the reception is located in an old streetcar carriage, but is mostly outdoors. The site owner is very friendly and helpful, and the simple sanitary facilities are kept tidy. Streetcar stop in front of the site, EDEKA 500 m away.

Very quiet CP, close to the city, outdoor pool directly opposite
Approach: there is a small access road (cycle path) to the gate of the campsite. You can park on the left after the gate to go to the reception.

Reception: in an old tramway, note opening hours! otherwise you can stand on a free pitch (not marked with an R = reserved) and register later. The names of... the reservations are on the board.
Staff very nice and helpful!

CP: flat with plenty of shade, large meadow, also for tents.
Several covered seating areas available for tent guests. There is also a power connection under the large pavilion, e.g. to charge a cell phone.

Sanitary facilities: simple, but always very clean, everything is fine. especially in Corona times, the single cabins with washbasins are very good!

Shopping: There are bread rolls on site, you have to order them in advance (list is available). otherwise there is a barbecue on weekends, so you can buy a bratwurst or similar for little money from about 17:00 (very tasty!). Shopping in the town.

Miscellaneous:
free WLAN only in the reception area.
by bike you are in the city in about 10 min.
EDEKA market nearby

many possibilities for excursions (car, bicycle, ...)

Vacation in the Saale Valley
We stayed in the Saale Valley for a week. On arrival, the reserved pitches were marked and freely selectable. The caravan is on a fine gravel pitch, the awning on the meadow. Some of the pitches are in the shade under trees. The sanitary building was at its capacity limit for the full occupancy of the... pitch, which was noticeable at peak times. If this area could be improved, the site would be an absolute number 1. The Saale cycle path runs close to the site, but the city center is also easy to reach. There is a shop about 500 m away.

No longer up to date
Although the site is very quiet and Jena is easy to reach on foot, it is no longer up to date. The sanitary facilities are very basic and too small for the size of the pitch. 3 men's WC and 4 women's WC showers 3 rooms, no hot water at 06:30 in the morning. I think if there were new sanitary facilities this site would be recommended.

Small but mighty!
A small, friendly campsite in the middle of Jena! The pitches are laid out with gravel and each pitch has a little meadow for camping. From the campsite you can reach the swimming pool in just 2 minutes on foot and the town of Jena is not far away either! The sanitary facilities are unfortunately no longer state of the art, but they are clean.

The place is close to the city with the bike Jena is ideal to travel! The place is small but great divided! For campers or motorhomes there are fixed pitches with small gravel, the rest of the place is with meadow! The car stands on the gravel you sit on the meadow! Absolutely great solution! You can... choose your pitch! We check in from 4 pm! The pitches are partly under trees so quite shady! Showers and toilets included in the price !!! Showers and toilets are in a container but clean and ideal - there is nothing to complain about !!! Beer and other drinks are available in a fridge - payment is on a trust basis at an open till ! Price per night 1 person with camper and electricity 11.50 euros including toilets and showers Great campsite absolute favorite! I can't fault anything - I loved staying here and will definitely be back!!! 👍👍👍

Small but nice
We were there for 5 days in May. The operators are very friendly and helpful. The place is very tidy. The sanitary facilities are okay, although not the newest, but completely sufficient and clean. We liked it very much. It was quiet but still very close to the town.

Convenient location
The square is conveniently located. You can easily get into the city on foot or by streetcar. Some of the pitches are quite small, but you can just stand on a meadow. We arrived outside reception opening hours, a member of staff was very nice and we were able to choose a pitch easily. The sanitary facilities are very basic, clean but also very clearly laid out.

Very nice operator and no rip-offs!
Nice place, convenient location.
If you are looking for peace and quiet and not a luxury place, this is the place for you. The operator H. Steffen Albrecht, like his staff, is always there for his guests with help and advice. We felt very comfortable.

Great place with antique sanitary facilities
A great place with a friendly groundsman. We had reserved a pitch, but on arrival we were able to spontaneously decide on another pitch in the small street by the reception. As an alternative to permanent pitches, there is also a large meadow, which makes up the main part of the site. There was enough... space for the caravan and awning on our pitch. The car had to be maneuvered a little. Electricity connections were well distributed, satellite reception was also no problem and there was water in the sanitary area. The green areas were well maintained. The site is quite close to the city center of Jena. You can walk directly to the streetcar station on the main road, so you can leave your car if you want to go into the center of Jena. The Jenzig can also be easily climbed from the square. The site does not have its own restaurant, but the groundsman recommended the "Silberdiestel" restaurant, which is a 5-minute walk away. What at first sight and from the name sounds like a restaurant for the nearby allotment garden association is, however, a really tasty and inexpensive Italian restaurant. Definitely try it out. The only real criticism is the sanitary facilities. Old and patched up are the words that first come to mind. Everything worked, you didn't need shower tokens and the facilities were clean, but the door lock didn't work on at least one of the shower cubicles and there was no feel-good atmosphere in the facilities either. Too bad for an otherwise great place. On the other hand, the pitch was really good value for money.

According to the name, the campsite was under the Jenzig. The mountain is perfect for a small but challenging undertaking. The site offers space for many guests. The outdoor pool is right next to the campsite. The sanitary facilities were clean but unfortunately too small and outdated. There was a different... choice of food every evening. Drinks could be purchased at any time from the cash register. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Organizational matters were dealt with very easily. There was a central point for fresh and waste water.

Getting to know each other week at the campsite
Once again this year, the middle groups of the Kaleidoscope School were able to spend some eventful hours at the campsite. Thanks to the friendly team at the campsite. The delicious food in particular deserves a special mention at this point.

Slow Camping....
Small, very quiet campsite without the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Super friendly operator, delicious food. If you are looking for hustle and bustle and 5-star deluxe, this is definitely not the place for you. Simple, quiet, friendly and wonderfully relaxed. Outdoor pool 2 minutes' walk away... (this weekend there was even great 24-hour swimming + free entry all night). Many thanks for three great days! P.S.: Leisure tip: Planetarium, always worth a visit!
