Central Location—But Pure Mass Tourism*

The location is unbeatable: right below the Staubbach Falls, 10 minutes to the village. But that’s about it when it comes to the perks for campers.

What alarmed us: It’s nothing but through traffic. Thousands of tourists have to drive through the campground every... day to get to the mountains. No peace and quiet to be found.

The campground seems overcrowded. Among the long-term campers are converted delivery vans, rental vans, and minibuses. There’s no oversight—anyone who drives in is allowed in. Many wooden cabins have been set up, but there aren’t enough restroom facilities to support them. As a long-term camper, you feel out of place here.

Nature conservation? A no-go for us. All day long, 2–3 helicopters circle over the valley offering 17-minute sightseeing flights. Here, nature is just being exploited to the last drop to rake in money.

We’ve been camping for 30 years. This isn’t how we imagined the future.

2 out of 5 stars, solely because of the location.

Conclusion for the campground owners:
More monitoring of who’s actually camping here; guests who don’t follow the rules or respect nature should be asked to leave (this applies to those who simply dump their wastewater without a second thought).

Brilliant location. Nice tidy site. Well run and helpful staff. Clean facilities. Even had a drying room which was fab for drying towels etc..

They lock the gates between 9pm and 7am.. so we couldn't get off site and we wanted to leave a bit earlier. Maybe a code on the gate???
Great campsite. Well run, clean and great facilities.

Beautiful campsite with quality facilities but too many people accepted for the same facilities, when the campsite is full or not far away the pitches are very tight, the neighbors are really very close. If it rains, mud invades the driveways; gravel or better drainage is essential.

beautifully situated place
The campsite is beautifully situated with a view of the mountains. The reception was friendly and very quick. As soon as you drive onto the site, you are met by staff and taken to your pitch. Sufficiently large pitches, despite full occupancy there was usually a shower free. However, if the sanitary... building was renovated 3 times, everything would be a bit more spread out. You can get bread rolls in the store without pre-ordering, the restaurant is also good. You can get train and cable car tickets at the campsite. The only real minus is the approach. The last stretch of (narrow) road unfortunately goes past the Staubbach Falls. It feels like hundreds of people are walking around there taking photos. And since the road is open to everyone, many cars try to find a parking space there every day (although it is signposted differently) and then of course have to turn around again after a few meters. Driving past there with a camper van or caravan is not really fun. But of course that's not something the campsite can do anything about. Once you're there, it's nice.

Place in a great location with restrictions
We stayed at the campsite for 14 days in June. Stays of this length are probably the exception rather than the rule. When we checked in, we were asked somewhat incredulously whether we really wanted to stay for 14 days. The campsite is very attractively situated below the waterfall and that's the problem.... Because of social media, everyone wants to take a photo of themselves and the waterfall. Unfortunately, this is also the access road to the campsite. Almost no getting through. In general, the whole area is characterized by overtourism.
The sanitary facilities are mostly clean, but too few and poorly distributed around the site. Therefore long distances.
Everything is soggy when it rains. Only the main path is asphalted.
There should be urgent investment here to justify the level of the campsite.

Despite everything, we enjoyed our vacation. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant very good. Prices high as generally in Switzerland.

Helicopter noise omnipresent as you can book sightseeing flights. We were mostly out and about, so it didn't bother us that much.

Would we come again?
Probably not.
The location alone does not make a good campsite. Much more needs to be invested in the infrastructure.

Had imagined a 5 star place based on the reviews. This is not the case! The site is difficult to access due to the crowds (mass tourism). On site is an outdated place, unkempt, loveless, muddy. No demarcated plots, e.g. with hedges. Very small pitches. We couldn't even pitch our awning, the pitch was... so narrow. Partly dilapidated caravans/properties of long-term tenants, residential containers (adjacent Eurocamping) etc. characterize the picture. The pitch was only half occupied, if at all. You can't let your dog run free anywhere, everything is fenced in, some with electric fences. Food in the restaurant good, of course Switzerland very expensive, but you know that beforehand. Very friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities. In addition, you have to like helicopter noises, they fly in the valley from morning to evening. We won't be going back to this site and can only recommend it for 2-3 days. It is also used by campers.

A Magic place
I chose this campsite with my children for the Ascension weekend.
We made the most of the mountain walks and the weather really cooperated.
This is unusual for me, as I tend to choose campsites that are completely natural and where the aim is to rediscover human relationships in quiet, restful places....
In this case, it was my children's choice and I respected it.
I won't say anything about the way this service is billed, so as not to upset the managers again.
It's a method applied in Switzerland that I've never experienced elsewhere.
I have nothing to say about the sanitary arrangements, which are more than exemplary.
I still don't understand why we can't pay for our purchases with European currency!
Fortunately, in Lauterbrünnen I was able to do my shopping and pay in euros.
Still, it's a shame not to accept this convenience.
I only wanted to give my personal opinion here and I won't give any evaluations that could harm this open-air hotel.

The access road is narrow and it is not possible to cross everywhere, there are also crowds of tourists walking around the river rushes past some places quite loudly, in the inner part it is much quieter
Top-equipped pitch in a great location
If you are looking for a campsite in a very scenic valley with numerous waterfalls, Camping Jungfrau is highly recommended.
The site is large, but still manageable. There are various rental properties and permanent campers spread across the site, with various pitches in between. Some on gravel, grass,... by the river or under trees. Some are also equipped with water/drainage connections - but only in summer.
There are numerous excursion possibilities from the site, as it is located in the middle of a tourist hotspot. This is also noticeable in the guests on and around the campsite :-) Every member of staff speaks English.
You can get almost everything in the well-stocked store right next to reception and the bread is baked fresh daily on site as required without having to reserve in advance. There is a small Coop, butcher's shop and bakery in the village at the front, but you have to drive to Interlaken for everything else.
There are 3 sanitary facilities spread across the site, but the distances are still a little long as the site is rather elongated. But once you've arrived at one of the two newer ones, there's nothing to complain about. They are fully equipped (there are also family bathrooms), modern and, above all, very clean. Many other places could take a leaf out of their book!
There is a playground and table football for children, but nothing more. There is still room for improvement in our opinion

The site is in a very scenic location below the Staubbach Falls, the reception was friendly and informative, the pitch allocated to us was large enough. The sanitary facilities are okay, but not sufficient when the site is full, there are waiting times in the morning and evening. It is cleaned several... times a day, but with the masses of campers it doesn't last long. It was very quiet at night despite full occupancy. There is a good restaurant on site, you can buy bread rolls in the store and you can buy train tickets at reception. The access road to the campsite is very narrow and busy during the day with crowds of tourists going to the Staubbach Falls. In addition, many cars keep trying to get a parking space there, even though there are no parking spaces. They then all have to turn around and go back. It's fun if you want to drive through there in a camper van.

A beautiful campsite in the valley of the waterfalls
A 5-star campsite that also deserves a 5-star rating. A real gem and if you don't want to stay in a tent or camper, there are countless options. The infrastructure is excellent and the site is in a very quiet location, so at night you can only hear the occasional crumbling ice from the nearby Staubbach... Falls (waterfall). Again and again in winter .....!
Ideal for spontaneous winter camping, as there is a post bus service to the mountain railroads directly from reception. After an eventful day of skiing, you can also indulge in culinary delights in the campsite's own restaurant.

The friendliness in Switzerland
The location of the campsite in the Lauterbrunn valley is of course unique. The friendly, kind and helpful staff are memorable. Both the usher and the reception staff. The quiet location and the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities make the site one of the best in the Alps.

The setting in the valley was stunning! Check in was easy, lots of information provided. Toilets and showers very clean along with other facilities. Great base for accessing tourist attractions, cycle path and easy walk to village. Full serviced pitch. Shop and restaurant on site, neither of which we used but the restaurant was always busy.

Really hard to find any. If I had to pick one perhaps some more lights on the path as I had to use a torch to go to the toilet in the dark.
Stunning location, clean facilities, everything you could need!
Absolutely loved our stay here, would highly recommend this site on your visit to Switzerland. It isn't cheap per night but the facilities and setting make it a little easier on the pocket.

Jungfrau Camping
The Jungfrau Camping is an oasis of peace and perfect for "grounding" yourself again. If you just want to find yourself again, like peace and quiet and can live without a cell phone, you will find everything here to be happy without having to do without comfort. I was at Jungfrau Camping for the 3rd time this year and will definitely return here many more times.
