Easily accessible, peace and quiet. Hours from the sea, the hinterland is fantastic. Trips to the vultures and buffalo. The property itself is spacious quiet. In season the baker comes by otherwise get bread in the village. Very nice pool, every week a communal meal. Nathalie is a treasure!

Pure relaxation - beautiful hiking opportunities

Perhaps a little too secluded for some - but not for us!
Relaxing area - pleasant stay
It is always difficult to give a reasonably accurate description if you have visited the site at an unusual time. We (60-something seniors) were here at the end of September 2018 and the site was already pretty empty. It was correspondingly quiet - and we had the choice between several fantastic pitches.... You have to like this seclusion and should stock up accordingly. Bread is available - if ordered in advance - every day. OCTON is within walking distance (approx. 20 minutes), where there is a small "Alimentation" for the essentials, the nearest supermarket is approx. 10 km away. Although you can also go on beautiful hikes directly from the campsite (to Lac du Salagou; ..... to the panoramic mountain at the back - approx. 45 min ascent), the particularly beautiful hiking trails are a few kilometers away: * From Mourèze (13 km away) the "CIRQUE de MOURÈZE" (1h to the summit - beautiful view - surefootedness required - hiking boots and poles recommended - only limited parking for camper vans). * From Octon to the "CHAPELLE NOTRE DAME de ROUBINAC" (easy approx. 1h 15 min - map at the parking lot in Octon) * From ROQUES to Mont Mars = Mont de Sainte-Scolastique (approx. 1h ascent to the ruins - beautiful view of the area - hiking boots and poles recommended) A few more highlights: The incredibly nice Nathalie (she never seems to be in a bad mood) and the pool, which is always refreshing because it is fed by cool spring water. We only wanted to stay for a few days and then go back down to the sea ...... In the end, we skipped the sea and spent ten wonderful days relaxing here.

Nice naturist camp
The site is a bit remote, but you can get to Octon or Lac Salagou quickly by bike. Friendly groundsman, pleasant natural sloping terrain, level pitches. The site has a surprisingly large pool, a friendly pool bar and is reasonably priced. Everything has more of a leisure club feel. Reading corner with... book exchange and board games, but has charm. Surprisingly many Dutch people of all ages who spend longer vacations there. Nearest (unofficial) nudist beach behind Celles.

Quiet campsite
at least at night. During the day, there were countless crickets chirping, but they didn't bother us any further. The site is near the village of Octon with a picturesque view of the Lac du Salagu a few kilometers from Lodéve. The access road is easy except for a very steep 20m stretch. The electricity... boxes are quite far apart but the groundsman lends out cable drums free of charge. The site is ideal for hikers who enjoy walking through almost untouched nature. History buffs will also get their money's worth in the area. The site is largely unlit at night.
