September 2020ΘετικάLevel site, quiet environment,ΑρνητικάVery bad sanitaire, no mobile phone signal, unfriendly ownersBig Mistake!As caravanners in our 60’s Aux Cailloux seemed a useful overnight stop a few hours drive from the ferry at Amsterdam. It was without doubt the worst site we found on a six-week trip. This is a quiet campsite with level ground, readily available water, electricity and a small bar/restaurant area. There’s... a good dish-washing area. However most of the site is for ‘permanent’ caravans, many of them old, dirty and dilapidated. The sanitaire block has only 3 WCs, 3 showers and a urinal, all in one room for both male and female, with a cracked and very dirty floor. We could not face using these facilities in the morning so we waited for a shower on the ferry. The chemical waste disposal point is filthy (beyond worst imaginings). We had no mobile phone signal on the camp site, which is unusual and very annoying. Free wi-fi is available close to the bar/restaurant area, however the owner does not allow laptops at the tables unless you buy food/drink. He ordered us to move to an uncomfortable bench unless we bought from him, although there were many empty tables around us. We feel that Aux Cailloux is more suited to 'locals' than people on a caravan holiday. Early the next day we looked at other campsites nearby, Camping Le Pirot and Camping Grottes de Han, both with a better location (in the pretty village of Han-Sur-Lesse) both seem lovely and are more suitable for us in future years.Κανένας κατασκηνωτής δεν έχει βρει αυτήν την αξιολόγηση χρήσιμη ακόμα. Despite COVID crisis they kept optimistic, they took the site about three years ago and it was in a terrible shape. They managed to clean it up and done a great job sofar.
