This year was our second time at Camping Bergruss. In a nutshell: peaceful, cozy, beautiful surroundings, a wonderful pool, a great atmosphere, lots of Dutch families, a bread delivery service, clean restrooms—another successful trip! A wonderful spot for families with children under 10! Day trips to Italy and Slovenia, beautiful lakes, stunning mountain scenery, a free swimming pool, and free public transportation within Carinthia.

Spacious camping sites with beautiful views

The restrooms could use a little sprucing up, but they are clean. The campground's pool is great for kids. Fortunately, you can use the municipal pool for free.

Beautiful campground, perfectly located near all the highlights in the region. The owner is always friendly and helpful. The restrooms are clean and plentiful. Only private camping gear allowed—no entertainment and no water park—so you really get to experience camping. Lots of Dutch families with children, mainly between the ages of 4 and 12, who stay for at least a week on average. Supermarkets are within a 5-minute drive, and every day at 8:00 a.m. (except Sundays), the “baker” (from the supermarket) stops by to sell bread rolls. The reception desk sells cold beer, soft drinks, and ice cream—perfect! Showers are 1€ for 6 min.

There’s a bottle of wine for sale at the reception desk, and maybe a few water fountains on the field would be a nice addition. Before, you had to go to the restroom building to get water. It could get a little crowded at times.

The restrooms were very clean and well-maintained, just like the rest of the campground. The view was also beautiful, and the staff was extremely friendly.

The campground was very crowded, so we couldn't always find a good place to park the car.

The campground is simple but has spacious sites. It has a great atmosphere, clean restrooms, a warm welcome, and is right on the Drau Bike Path.

Make the location label a little clearer.

A beautiful and spacious campground. We’re parked on the grass with a nice view. Great for biking along the R1 to Spittal and Lienz. We took an e-bike to Lake Weissensee. The train station is 200 meters away—what more could you ask for?

Perhaps the bread delivery service should start earlier, since the village is located at a high elevation.

The campsite is small but comfortable and has everything you need. We were only there for one night just passing through and had a great night's sleep!

Instead of ATMs in the showers, simply raise the price per night.

I recommend some lampposts that give some light at night. People who take their dogs out to relieve themselves at night see nothing. And maybe make a passageway or a safer lane to go to the train station without going alongside the state highway

We had the opportunity to spend two weeks at this campground. Very welcoming and friendly. Toilets and showers are clean and kept clean. In the morning the baker comes between 8 and 8:30 with delicious bread. For our adolescent daughter there were unfortunately no peers. For adolescents there is little entertainment. But otherwise totally top!
