By chance, we had previously driven through the really picturesque town of Glurns in our camper van and marked it with a large cross in the atlas so that... we would definitely include it as a travel destination.
That's how we discovered Gloria Vallis for the first time in 2019. (Unfortunately, we were unable to travel the following years....)
The location of the campsite is ideal for all activities and thanks to the good logistical options, you can get anywhere without having to get your own vehicle in motion.
The layout of the individual pitches and the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities are particularly commendable.
We have also always been delighted with the excellent food in the restaurant.

We have tried many destinations and you can't compare apples with pears, but when you arrive here you are greeted by a young, friendly and authentic team who make you feel welcome. They are supported by the senior and his charming wife.
Arno, the all-rounder,... tends the bar in the afternoon and mixes excellent cocktails,
The site is clean and without frills....A beautiful pool invites you to take a dip.
Even when fully occupied, the campsite does not feel overcrowded and thus maintains a good balance.
Larger campsites, whether in Merano or Kühlungsborn, always have the aftertaste of anonymity. There is always a lot of commotion and too much movement,
ps: Thank you Arno for saving our vacation in 2025 and for playing Tetris with the booking plan so long that we were allowed to stay with you for another week... Because unfortunately we wanted to try another place (South Tyrol) and were totally unhappy,

We were very impressed with this campsite! The whole site is very large and absolutely clean - no matter what time of day or night, especially the sanitary facilities are always in top clean condition and are cleaned several times a day. The... staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a small supermarket in the entrance area and you can have fresh bread rolls delivered to your pitch in the morning. Dinner was not only very tasty, but also very plentiful - be sure to make a reservation as places are very limited. A real highlight is the idyllic pool area with sun loungers and umbrellas - ideal for relaxing in hot temperatures.
Conclusion: an all-round successful stay on a really great campsite.

An ideal starting point for hiking and cycling enthusiasts in the surrounding area. The sanitary facilities are very clean. They are cleaned regularly throughout the day. The bread roll service to the pitch at 7.00 a.m. is very... convenient for anyone who wants to start the day with a good breakfast. Orders can be placed until 6.30 p.m. the day before. This is also very positive. There is a beautifully designed pool area with sun loungers and parasols for relaxing and swimming. Drinks and coffee can be purchased in the restaurant right next to the pool.
The plots are separated by hedges and offer enough space for all sizes of mobile homes and caravans. Each pitch has its own electricity and water supply and Wi-Fi is also readily available.

The... few pitches we could have were not special, so we chose a quiet pitch at the bottom without a great view. Very nice lawn and plants. Card required to enter the sanitary facilities, even to flush. A bit overdone, you constantly forget it, takes revenge when it rains.
Showers no longer up to date at all - poor shower head, no pressure, narrow, no working extractor for steam.
No disinfectant in the toilet, only a hand basin. WLAN not good. Garbage bin too far away outside the pitch at the motorhome site.
Unfortunately did not use the beautiful swimming pond.
During the lunch break you can't get out of the campsite by car 🤬😳😳 thanks for spoiling our day. Since you're on vacation, it's easy to forget.
We weren't told that ordering bread rolls once means ordering bread rolls for the whole vacation. The actually nice service, that the bread rolls are brought to the pitch, is also the wake-up service with a dog, because of course the dog will attack. It would be better to set up a self-service room with baskets like in Mals.
Unfortunately we also ate at the campsite. Somewhat loveless tables/chairs/umbrella combination on the terrace. Vegetarian dishes 17€ per dish (more expensive than at the top restaurant in town with fine dining) that was just reheated convenience - both the dumplings and canelloni filled with vegetables (deep-fried - why? It's not on the menu) and disgusting, not homemade and has nothing to do with cooking. The worst food we have eaten on this vacation at McDonalds level, not even worth half the price.Exceptionally many campers in huge mobile homes, next to which you stand in the shade.Автоматично преведено.

Thanks to the cycle paths, you can get around safely by bike. The pool is a dream on hot days. Big enough for swimming. Sun loungers with parasols. The water is just right for refreshing... yourself on hot days. The bread rolls are brought to the campsite, perfect. The birds chirp all day long.
You can hear the road above towards Lake Reschen. In the evening, the traffic is much less and you can only hear the occasional car.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped with flowering shrubs. Unfortunately there are also weeds, but they didn't really bother us. It was a different story up the stairs from the sanitary block. It is surrounded by apple and cherry orchards, is small (which we generally prefer), and from almost every pitch you have an incredibly great, almost 360° view of the mountains, especially the Ortler Alps, simply breathtakingly beautiful.
The surrounding area is great for... hiking and cycling (assuming you have a certain level of fitness, you are in the mountains after all 😉). For less fit people, like me, this is also possible on flat terrain along the Adige river. This is where the Vinschgau cycle path runs from the Reschen Pass to Meran.
The site is very quiet and you can hear the cowbells ringing softly from the slopes ❤️.
The restaurant on the site is highly recommended. Good quality food at a reasonable price.
We found the bread delivery service to our pitch 👍🏻 particularly pleasant.
The beautiful outdoor pool, which is heated to a very pleasant temperature, offers a welcome way to cool off in high summer temperatures. I had the pleasure twice during our vacation 🤗.
There are plenty of shopping opportunities (food) in the surrounding villages, so it's not a tragedy that the campsite's own store only has a very, very limited range.
The entire team at Gloria Vallis was always friendly and helpful.
We felt completely at ease.
